LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) - Say farewell to "Star Trek
Voyager." UPN's longest-running and second-highest rated series
will blast off the air in May 2001 after seven seasons. In
preparation, the show will air a special two-hour edition in
November, reports Variety.
"Voyager" debuted as a two-hour movie the same night as UPN's
launch on January 16, 1995. It has consistently been the top
performer for the network, until Thursday night powerhouse "WWF
Smackdown!" took its place as the ratings king.
UPN is thinking about bringing back the "Mortal Kombat"
franchise next season, around the same time that it says good
bye to "Voyager."
The network plans to air "The Mortal Kombat Federation of
Martial Arts" as a sweeps special this May, which will most
likely serve as a backdoor pilot for fall.
